About Kin

Kin is an AI companion application that builds a persistent understanding of who you are. It is operated by Opal Harmony P.C. (Opal Harmony Private Company / Ιδιωτική Κεφαλαιουχική Εταιρεία), a private company registered in Greece, Olympou 9, 54630 Thessaloniki, Greece. Kin is not a therapist, medical professional, or crisis counselor. If you are in crisis, please contact a mental health professional or your local emergency services.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use Kin. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that the information you provide is accurate.

Your account

• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent limits is not allowed.
• You are responsible for keeping your sign-in email secure.
• You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
• You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Kin for any illegal purpose
• Attempt to extract training data, reverse-engineer, or manipulate Kin's underlying systems
• Use Kin to generate content that is harmful, harassing, or violates the rights of others
• Circumvent rate limits, security measures, or access restrictions

Subscription and payments

Kin offers a free trial and a paid Premium subscription. Here's how it works:

• Pricing: $29/month or $249/year.
• Auto-renewal: Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period at the same price. You will be charged on the renewal date unless you cancel before then.
• Cancellation: You can cancel at any time from the Settings page or through the Stripe customer portal. After cancellation, you keep access until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time.
• Payment processing: All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

EU right of withdrawal

If you are in the EU, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase under the Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU).

Because Kin is a digital service that begins immediately upon subscription, you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once the service has been fully provided during the withdrawal period. If you request withdrawal within 14 days and have used the service, we may deduct a proportionate amount for the service already provided.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, email privacy@getsinew.dev with your account email and the word "withdrawal" in the subject line.

AI-generated content

Kin's responses are generated by AI. While Kin aims to be helpful and accurate, AI can make mistakes. Kin's responses are not professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise). Always verify important information independently.

Intellectual property

You own your content. You retain full ownership of all conversations, notes, tasks, reminders, and any other content you share with Kin. We do not claim any rights to it.

Kin owns the system. The Kin application, system prompts, Person model architecture, distillation logic, and all associated software, designs, and trade secrets are proprietary to us. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of the Kin system.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent — your data is erased with no recovery period. Any active subscription is cancelled at deletion; no partial refund is issued for unused time unless you are within the EU 14-day withdrawal period.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these terms or our acceptable-use rules
• Use Kin in a way that harms other users or third parties
• Attempt to circumvent security controls or rate limits
• Provide false information during registration

For minor violations, we will give you reasonable notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue before suspending access. For serious violations (e.g. illegal activity), suspension may be immediate.

Service availability

Kin is provided as-is. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.

Limitation of liability

Kin is not liable for decisions you make based on AI-generated responses. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the preceding 12 months. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Significant changes will be communicated through the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Greece and the European Union.

For EU consumers: you may submit disputes to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through the ODR platform, it will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Thessaloniki, Greece — except where EU consumer-protection rules grant an EU-resident consumer the right to bring proceedings in, or be sued only in, the courts of their own country of residence. Nothing in this clause overrides those mandatory consumer rights.
